10. Talor Gooch 94.43 pts

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Tyrrell Hatton

Tyrrell Hatton has been at the top of his game on the DP World Tour and Asian Tour lately, placing T10 at the Open de Espana, victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, 2nd at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, T6 at the DP World Tour Championship, 5th at the PIF Saudi International and victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Other notable performances achieved by Hatton in the LIV Golf Tour League last year include victory in Nashville and finishing T8 in Mayakoba, T4 in Miami, T5 in Singapore, 3rd in Andalucia T2 in the United Kingdom and 4th in Chicago.

Furthermore, Hatton placed T14 at the Sentry, T13 at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T9 at the Masters on the PGA Tour.

Hatton has found another gear lately and has every chance of victory in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann has been in great touch on the DP World Tour and Asian Tour, placing T23 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, T7 at the DP World Tour Championship, T5 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, victory at the PIF Saudi International and finishing T3 at the International Series in India in his last five starts.

Niemann's noteworthy results on the LIV Golf Tour last season include winning in Mayakoba and Jeddah and finishing T4 in Hong Kong, T9 in Miami, T3 in Adelaide, T7 in Singapore, T3 in Nashville, T6 in Andalucia, T2 in the United Kingdom and T2 in Chicago.

Additionally, Niemann placed 3rd at the International Series in Oman (Asian Tour) and T9 at the Paris Olympics.

Niemann won in Saudi Arabia recently and has the form to emerge as the winner this weekend.

Cameron Smith

Cameron Smith has been producing ultra-consistent performances on the PGA Tour of Australia, DP World Tour, and Asian Tour lately, placing T3 at the Queensland PGA Championship, T2 at the NSW Open, 2nd at the Australian PGA Championship, T39 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open and T2 at the PIF Saudi International.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Smith in the LIV Golf League last season include finishing T8 in Mayakoba, T15 in Las Vegas, T2 in Hong Kong,  T14 in Adelaide, T2 in Singapore, T9 in Nashville, T6 in Andalucia, T9 in Nashville, T6 in Andalucia, T2 in the United Kingdom and T8 in Greenbrier.

Smith will fancy his chances of victory in Riyadh after recording three runner-up results in four outings.

Peter Uihlein

Peter Uihlein produced fair results on the LIV Golf Tour last season, with his best results being a T2 in Las Vegas, a T18 in Miami, a T14 in the United Kingdom, a T20 in Greenbrier and a T15 in Chicago.

However, Uihlein was in fine form on the Asian Tour in 2024, winning the International Series in England and Qatar and placing 6th at the International Series in Oman and T2 at the International Series in Thailand. Additionally, he finished T19 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour.

The 35-year-old American contested the Saudi Open (Asian Tour) at the 2024 Riyadh Golf Club, placing T3.

Uihlein could cause an upset victory, as he has the experience of playing at the Riyadh Golf Club and registered two wins last season.

Format

An invitational field of 54 golfers will feature at the tournament, with a total purse of $25 million up for grabs. $4 million will go to the winner, while the player coming in last will pocket $50,000.

The players will contest 54 holes instead of 72 for all the LIV Golf Invitational Series events.

A shotgun start will occur, where the players will tee off simultaneously from different holes.

A 13-four-man team (four players each and two wild-card players) format will run concurrent, with the top three teams earning prize money.

Verdict

Hatton has done nothing wrong lately and can win the season's opening LIV Golf Tour tournament.

Niemann has been in excellent form lately and can add another trophy to his cabinet this weekend.

Smith has been knocking hard lately and should enter calculations in Saudi Arabia.

Uihlein has been performing well lately and could cause an upset victory at the Riyadh Golf Club.
