LIV Golf Invitational Series returns to the United States this weekend with a field of the world's best players competing in the second edition at the Greenbrier, but who will be victorious?

Bryson DeChambeau is back to defend his title after a six-stroke victory over Mito Pereira in 2023.

From 2010 to 2019, the Old White Course hosted the Greenbrier Classic and A Military Tribute on the PGA Tour, where current LIV Golf League players Danny Lee, Kevin Na, and Joaquin Niemann each secured a title.

Current top-10 in the individual points standings after 11 rounds:

1. Joaquin Niemann 189.40 pts
2. Jon Rahm 165.17 pts
3. Tyrrell Hatton 143.49 pts
4. Sergio Garcia 124.49 pts
5. Louis Oosthuizen 118.10 pts
6. Cameron Smith 116.66 pts
7. Dean Burmester 95.90 pts
8. Bryson DeChambeau 91.16 pts
9. Paul Casey 88.66 pts
10. Brooks Koepka 86.73 pts

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Cameron Smith

Cameron Smith was in great shape at the start of the LIV Golf Tour season, placing T8 in Mayakoba, T15 in Las Vegas, T41 in Jeddah, T2 in Hong Kong, W/D in Miami, T6 at the Masters, T14 in Adelaide and T2 in Singapore.

Smith's form dipped after those excellent results, finishing T63 at the PGA Championship, T48 in Houston, and T32 at the U.S. Open before bouncing back to his best, placing T9 in Nashville, T6 in Andalucia, MC at the Open Championship and T2 in the United Kingdom.

The former Open Champion finished T32 at the 2023 LIV Golf Invitational Series at The Greenbrier.

Smith will fancy his chances to secure his first LIV Golf Tour title of the season, as he has had three top-ten finishes in a row.

Louis Oosthuizen

Louis Oosthuizen was in excellent touch at the start of his season on the LIV Golf Tour, placing T8 in Mayakoba, 50th in Las Vegas, 2nd at the International Series in Oman (Asian Tour), T2 in Jeddah, T19 in Hong Kong, T7 in Miami, 2nd in Adelaide and T22 in Singapore before withdrawing from Houston.

However, Oosthuizen soon regained his form, finishing 13th in Nashville, T4 in Andalucia, MC at the Open Championship and T6 in the United Kingdom.

Other prominent results achieved by Oosthuizen this season include winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship and the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open back-to-back on the DP World Tour.

The South African finished T25 at the LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023.

Oosthuizen will have a chance to emerge as the winner in West Virginia, as he has been in contention to win in his previous two starts.

Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka was in solid form during the opening months of his season on the LIV Golf Tour, placing T5 in Mayakoba, T12 in Las Vegas, T12 in Jeddah and 28th in Hong Kong.

Koepka's subsequent two events were poor, finishing T45 in Miami and T45 at the Masters before he bounced back to his best, with results of T9 in Adelaide, victory in Singapore, T26 at the PGA Championship and T9 in Houston.

Koepka's performances dipped afterwards, finishing T26 at the U.S. Open, T42 in Nashville, T27 in Andalucia, and T43 at the Open Championship before showing signs of returning to form by placing T16 in the United Kingdom.

The five-time Major winner finished T38 at this tournament in 2023.

Koepka has not been at his fluent best in the LIV Golf League this season, securing only one victory; however, he is overdue a big performance.

Paul Casey

Paul Casey showed promising signs at the start of his season in the LIV Golf League, placing T11 in Mayakoba, T5 in Las Vegas, T29 in Jeddah, T2 in Hong Kong, 6th at the Porsche Singapore Classic (DP World Tour) and T14 in Miami.

Casey achieved mediocre results in his following two events, finishing T31 in Adelaide and T32 in Singapore before rediscovering his touch, placing T9 in Houston, T9 in Nashville, T17 in Andalucia and 5th in the United Kingdom.

The Englishman finished T36 on debut at the LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023.

Casey has been playing well during the latter half of this season and could upstage the others with the title on the Old White Course this weekend.

Format

An invitational field of 54 golfers will feature at the tournament, with a total purse of $25 million up for grabs. $4 million will go to the winner, while the player coming in last will pocket $50,000.

The players will contest 54 holes instead of 72 for all the LIV Golf Invitational Series events.

A shotgun start will occur, where the players will tee off simultaneously from different holes.

A 13-four-man team (four players each and two wild-card players) format will run concurrent, with the top three teams earning prize money.

Verdict

Smith is showing signs he is ready to win another LIV Golf Tour title in West Virginia this weekend.

Oosthuizen has been knocking hard in the LIV Golf League this season and can make the frame come Sunday.

Koepka offers excellent value at the Greenbrier and should enter calculations.

Casey has the form to cause an upset victory this weekend.
