LIV Golf Andalucia Preview & Picks - Best Golf Bets For Valderrama

The LIV Golf Invitational Series returns to Spain, with the players vying for victory at the iconic Valderrama golf course this weekend. Who will pocket the winner's cheque come Sunday?
Talor Gooch is back to defend his title afer a one-stroke victory over Bryson DeChambeau in 2023.
Present LIV Golf League players Sergio Garcia and Adrian Meronk have all won at Valderrama when competing on the DP World Tour.
Current top-ten in the individual points standings after nine rounds:

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm was in top form during the opening few months on the LIV Golf Tour, placing T3 in Mayakoba, T8 in Las Vegas, 5th in Jeddah, T8 in Hong Kong, T4 in Miami, T45 at the Masters, T3 in Adelaide, T10 in Singapore before missing the cut at the PGA Championship.
Rahm withdrew from the tournament in Houston and the U.S. Open in his subsequent two starts; however, he bounced back with T3 place in Nashville on his return to the LIV Golf League.
The former world number one has featured three times at the Andalucia Masters when playing on the DP World Tour, with results of MC in 2017, T2 in 2019 and MC in 2021.
Rahm has yet to win on the LIV Golf Tour but would love to achieve his maiden victory in front of his home fans at Valderrama this weekend.
Sergio Garcia
Sergio Garcia lacked consistency at the beginning of the LIV Golf Tour season, with results of 2nd in Mayakoba, T26 in Las Vegas, T15 in Jeddah and T38 in Hong Kong.
However, Garcia has improved his game since mid-March, placing T21 at the International Series in Macau (Asian Tour), 2nd in Miami, MC at the Masters, T40 in Adelaide, T14 in Singapore, 5th in Houston, T12 at the U.S. Open and T18 in Nashville.
The former Masters champion loves to play at Valderrama, recording victories at the Andalucia Masters in 2011, 2016, and 2017. He placed T10 overall at this event in 2023.
Garcia has a proven track record at this venue, giving him the confidence to go for the victory in Spain.
Cameron Smith
Cameron Smith played two events on home soil at the start of his season, with results MC at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship (DP World Tour) and T17 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open (DP World Tour).
Smith played well on his return to the LIV Golf League, placing T8 in Mayakoba, T15 in Las Vegas, T41 in Jeddah, T2 in Hong Kong, W/D in Miami, T6 at the Masters, T14 in Adelaide and T2 in Singapore.
Smith could not maintain his level of play after those results, finishing T63 at the PGA Championship, T48 in Houston, and T32 at the U.S. Open before regaining his touch, placing T9 in Nashville.
The former Open Champion finished T12 at the 2023 LIV Golf Invitational Series in Valderrama.
Smith has gone close to winning twice this season and will have every chance to secure another trophy if he can replicate those performances.
Paul Casey
Paul Casey was in solid form during the opening months of his season on the LIV Golf Tour, placing T11 in Mayakoba, T5 in Las Vegas, T29 in Jeddah, T2 in Hong Kong, 6th at the Porsche Singapore Classic (DP World Tour) and T14 in Miami.
Casey's form dipped after those performances, finshing T31 in Adelaide and T32 in Singapore before showing his earlier form, placing T9 in Houston and T9 in Nashville in his subsequent two starts.
The Englishman finished T19 on debut at the LIV Golf Valderrama in 2023.
Casey has been in decent nick this season and offers an excellent each-way bet in Spain.
Format
An invitational field of 54 golfers will feature at the tournament, with a total purse of $25 million up for grabs. $4 million will go to the winner, while the player coming in last will pocket $50,000.
The players will contest 54 holes instead of 72 for all the LIV Golf Invitational Series events.
A shotgun start will occur, where the players will tee off simultaneously from different holes.
A 13-four-man team (four players each and two wild-card players) format will run concurrent, with the top three teams earning prize money.
Verdict
Garcia enters this event in solid form and knows how to win on this golf course.
Smith has finished runner-up twice this year and will fancy his chances to get over the finish line at Valderrama.
Casey has been thereabouts and could cause an upset victory this weekend.
