British Masters Picks & Preview - Best Golf Bets For The Belfry

A strong line-up heads to the Belfry this week for the British Masters, but who will win the final DP World Tour event of the year?

Qualification for the 2025 Ryder Cup starts at the Betfred British Masters this weekend, with six-time Major Champion Nick Faldo hosting the event.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Tyrrell Hatton
Tyrrell Hatton has enjoyed an excellent debut season on the LIV Golf Tour, placing T8 in Mayakoba, T12 in Las Vegas, T15 in Jeddah, T21 in Hong Kong, T4 in Miami, T14 in Adelaide, T5 in Singapore, T18 in Houston, victory in Nashville, 3rd in Andalucia, T2 in the United Kingdom and T25 at the Greenbrier.
Other prominent results achieved by Hatton on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour this year include finishing T14 at the Sentry, T13 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T31 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T9 at the Masters and T26 at the U.S. Open.
The 32-year-old English golfer has a solid record at the Betfred British Masters, placing T13 in 2015, T9 in 2016, T8 in 2017 and T35 in 2019.
Hatton has played well this year and can lift the trophy at the Belfry this weekend.
Tom McKibbin
Tom McKibbin was in great touch on the DP World Tour during the first six months of 2024, placing T14 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T16 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, 4th at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, T12 at the SDC Championship and T9 at the Jonsson Workwear Open.
He missed the cut at the Porsche Singapore Open before then finishing T7 at the ISPS Handa Championship, T23 at the Volvo China Open, T8 at the European Open, T41 at the U.S. Open, 6th at the KLM Dutch Open and 2nd at the Italian Open.
McKibbin has struggled with his game since those performances, with results of MC Scottish Open, T66 at the Open Championship, and MC at the D+D Real Czech Masters before bouncing back with a solid T10 result at the Danish Golf Championship last weekend.
The 21-year-old Englishman missed the cut on debut at the 2023 Betfred British Masters.
McKibbin has been in contention to win multiple times this season and will have a chance of winning on home soil if he can replicate his performances from earlier in the year.
Richard Mansell
Richard Mansell produced consistent results on the DP World Tour during the first half of his season, placing T22 at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship, T21 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, T14 at the Dubai Invitational and T25 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Mansell followed that with T9 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, T9 at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, T11 at the Porsche Singapore Classic, W/D at the Hero Indian Open, MC at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, T13 at the Soudal Open and T25 at the European Open.
However, Mansell struggled to maintain his level of play after those performances, with results of MC at the U.S. Open, T60 at the KLM Dutch Open, MC at the Italian Open, T10 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T50 at the Open Championship, T10 at the D+D Real Czech Masters and MC at the Danish Golf Championship.
The 29-year-old golfer has made three appearances at the Betfred British Masters, finishing T57 in 2021, T8 in 2022 and T28 in 2023.
Mansell has not been at his best lately but can challenge for the title at the Belfry this weekend.
Matteo Manassero
Matteo Manassero has been producing consistent results on the DP World Tour since May, placing T23 at the Volvo China Open, T13 at the Soudal Open, MC at the U.S. Open, T7 at the KLM Dutch Open, T10 at the Italian Open, T47 at the BMW International Open, T15 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T31 at the Open Championship and T18 at the Paris Olympics.
Additional highlights from Manassero's season include finishing T5 at the Investec South African, victory at the Jonsson Workwear Open and placing T5 at the Hero Indian Open.
The five-time DP World Tour winner has yet to make an impact at the Betfred British Masters, with results of MC in 2015, T49 in 2016, MC in 2017, T22 in 2018 and MC in 2019.
Manassero comes into this event in decent nick and should enter calculations.
Verdict
McKibbin has threatened to win another DP World Tour title multiple times this year and make the frame.
Mansell can feature prominently in England this weekend if he can rediscover his form from earlier in the year.
Manassero has solid form and could cause an upset victory at the Belfry this weekend.
