The PGA Tour and a host of seasoned professionals and rookies head to Utah to compete in the inaugural Black Desert Championship. Which golfer will become the first champion of this new tournament?
Past major winners Lucas Glover and Mike Weir are in the field.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Keith Mitchell
Keith Mitchell has regained his touch lately, placing T12 at the Wyndham Championship, 12th at the Procore Champions and T3 at the Sanderson Farms Championship last weekend.
Other notable results achieved by Mitchell this season include finishing T9 at the American Express, T17 at the WM Phoenix Open, T19 at the Mexico Open, T9 at the Cognizant Classic, T17 at the Valspar Championship, T14 at the Valero Texas Open, T20 at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson, T10 at the RBC Canadian Open and T18 John Deere Classic.
Mitchell will fancy his chances to secure victory at the Black Desert Championship after his recent performances on the PGA Tour.
Seamus Power
Seamus Power has been in solid form on the PGA Tour since the end of June, placing T20 at the Travelers Championship, 17th at the John Deere Classic, T65 at the Genesis Scottish Open and T37 at the 3M Open.
He was then T28 at the Wyndham Championship, T10 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T26 at the Amgen Irish Open and T11 at the recent Sanderson Farms Championship.
Additional highlights from Power's season include finishing T21 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T12 at the RBC Heritage and T16 at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Power has found consistency in his game lately and can lift the trophy in Utah come Sunday.
Patrick Fishburn
Patrick Fishburn has been knocking hard on the PGA Tour lately, placing 15th at the ISCO Championship, 3rd at the Barracuda Championship, T6 at the 3M Open, MC at the Wyndham Championship, 3rd at the Procore Championship and T48 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Other noteworthy results achieved by Fishburn this season include finishing T23 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, T4 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T20 at the Myrtle Beach Classic, T17 at the Kansas Wichita Open (Korn Ferry Tour) and T25 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Fishburn has every chance to emerge to win the Black Desert Championship if he can replicate his recent displays on the golf course.
Chan Kim
Chan Kim has been in decent nick on the PGA Tour lately, placing T12 at the John Deere Classic, T10 at the ISCO Championship, T29 at the Barracuda Championship, MC at the 3M Open, T12 at the Wyndham Championship, T26 Procore Championship and T33 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Other prominent performances achieved by Kim this year include finishing T14 at the American Express, T8 at the Mexico Open, T14 at the Valero Texas Open and T6 at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
Kim has been thereabouts and offers excellent value at the Black Desert Golf Club this weekend.
Verdict
Power is showing signs he is ready to win his third career PGA Tour title.
Fishburn has the form to emerge victorious at the Black Desert Golf Club.
Kim has produced solid results lately and should enter calculations in Utah this weekend.
