Toronto Argonauts Form
Toronto take a league-best regular season record of 15-2 into their final game before the playoffs.
The defending champions raced out of the blocks with six consecutive wins and a postseason place never looked in doubt.
The Argonauts have lost just once since early August, and that was a 31-21 defeat at Winnipeg in a rematch from last season’s Grey Cup.
Toronto rebounded from that loss immediately with home wins against Edmonton, 35-12, and Ottawa, 40-27.
The Argonauts then took their win streak to three games when they travelled to Saskatchewan to beat the Roughriders, 29-26.
Ottawa Redblacks Form
Ottawa enter this final game of the season on a three-game losing skid that has left them 4-13.
The Redblacks enjoyed a decent run between late June late July that put them 3-3 and in the postseason picture.
Their form collapsed at the end of July though, as a 16-12 loss to Hamilton sparked a seven-game losing skid.
Ottawa’s losing streak was halted by a 36-28 win at home to Saskatchewan on September 22, but they have not won since.
The Redblacks dropped back-to-back games against Montreal, losing 32-15 at home and 29-3 on the road, before travelling to Toronto for a 40-27 defeat.
Verdict
Toronto are clearly the better team, so even if they rest some starters they are stil capable of taking this.
