Defending champions Montreal continue to boast a 100% record heading into the fourth week of the season.
The Alouettes, who upset Winnipeg in last season’s Grey Cup, were handed back-to-back road games to start the season, but they successfully negotiated them.
They opened with a rematch of last season’s Grey Cup final and ran out 27-12 winners over the Blue Bombers.
Montreal then backed that up a week later as they travelled to Edmonton to edge past the Elks, 23-20.
The Alouettes finally made their home debut in Week 3, and they marked the occasion with their most comprehensive win of the season, beating Ottawa 47-21.
Toronto Argonauts Form
Toronto also take a perfect record into this matchup, having won either side of their Week 2 bye week.
The Argonauts went 16-2 last season before bowing out of the playoffs at the hands of Montreal, so it was no surprise to see them being considered a contender heading into the 2024 campaign.
They kicked things off with a home game against another team targeting the postseason, the BC Lions, and they came out on top, 35-27.
Toronto went on an early bye after that victory, but when they returned to action last weekend they won another high-scoring encounter.
The Argonauts were once again at home in Week 3, and they were able to fend off Edmonton for a 39-26 win that took them to 2-0.
Verdict
Both teams are off to a perfect start, but we are leaning towards the visitors.
Simply put this Montreal defense is considerably better than this Toronto group, so we expect the Alouettes to make the key stops in this one.
