The Tiger-Cats limped out of the blocks as they lost their first five games, before finally getting off the mark with back-to-back wins in late July.
They failed to keep that run going as they then lost their next four, and at 2-9 then found themselves in serious trouble heading into September.
Hamilton stopped the rot with a 31-28 victory over Toronto, and since returning from their second bye week they have gained some momentum to stay in the race.
The Tiger-Cats downed Ottawa 37-21 at home, before heading to Toronto to knock off the Argonauts, 33-31.
BC Lions Form
BC come into this game on the back of a defeat, but firmly in the playoff picture with a 7-7 record.
The Lions opened the season with a defeat, but responded in strong fashion by reeling off five consecutive victories.
Their form cooled off in late July though, as a 25-24 defeat in Calgary proved to be the start of a five-game skid that left them below .500.
BC stopped the rot in their final game in August, beating Ottawa 38-12, and they then backed that up with a 37-23 upset of defending champions Montreal on the road.
The Lions failed to make it three wins in a row however, as they were beaten 33-17 at home by Toronto.

Hamilton have built up some steam in recent weeks and they are backed to cover the number here.
