BC Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders Preview & Picks

Saskatchewan are tipped to cover as they progress to the West Final.

The Roughriders have not lost at home to BC over the past couple of seasons, and the Lions’ road form during 2024 suggests that trend is likely to continue.

  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 4-1 in their last 5 games
  • BC Lions went 3-6 on the road during the regular season
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 2-0 in the last two home meetings with BC
  • The Under has cashed in 4 of Saskatchewan’s last 6 games

Head To Head

  • The two teams split the regular season series 1-1
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders won 39-8 when the two teams last met on October 12

BC Lions Form

BC ended the regular season with a 9-9 record to finish third in the West Division standings behind Winnipeg and Saskatchewan.

The Lions opened the season with a loss, but responded in emphatic fashion as they reeled off five consecutive victories.

Their form then collapsed as they lost five straight, but they steadied the ship over the final couple of months as they went 4-3 in their final seven games.

BC went 2-2 in their last four, starting with a 32-29 double overtime defeat to Hamilton and a 32-15 victory over Calgary.

The Lions then lost 39-8 at Saskatchewan, before wrapping up the schedule with a 27-3 win over Montreal.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Form

Saskatchewan compiled a 9-8-1 record to finish second in the West Division, two games behind Winnipeg.

The Roughriders opened with a four-game win streak but saw their form nose-dive between the middle of July and early September.

They won just once during a nine-game spell, putting their postseason aspirations in serious jeopardy with that miserable run of form.

Saskatchewan rallied between their final two bye weeks, reeling of four consecutive wins as they beat Calgary 37-29, Ottawa 29-16, Edmonton 28-24 and BC 39-8.

The Roughriders ended the regular season with a defeat though, as they were beaten 27-12 at home by Calgary.

Verdict

Saskatchewan have won the last couple of home meetings with BC, and given the Lions’ struggles on the road we expect more of the same here.
