Jake Paul goes into this fight looking to rebound from the first defeat of his professional career, which left him 6-1 (4 KOs).
Paul made his professional debut in January 2020 when he knocked out fellow social media star Ali Eson Gib.
He then knocked out ex-NBA basketball player Nate Robinson in the second round, before finally sharing the ring with a true professional fighter.
However, ‘The Problem Child’ did not sign on to fight a professional boxer, instead facing MMA fighter Ben Askren.
Askren was not known for his striking skills in MMA, so it was no real surprise when Paul took him out inside a round.
The 26-year-old influencer then faced ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in back-to-back fights, beating Woodley by split decision before knocking him out in the sixth round.
Paul then took his professional record to 6-0 when he beat UFC legend Anderson Silva by unanimous decision, but he was unable to make it seven-in-a-row.
After years of hype he finally shared the ring with Tommy Fury, and it proved to be a disappointing night as he lost via split decision.
Nate Diaz Form
Nate Diaz is making his debut as a professional boxer, but he does have plenty of combat sports experience after competing in 34 MMA fights.
Diaz enjoyed a lengthy run with the UFC that saw him share the Octagon with a who’s who of fighters.
Included in that list is Conor McGregor, who famously crossed over to boxing for a superfight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The 38-year-old Californian shocked the world when he lit up Conor McGregor and submitted him inside two rounds in March 2016.
However, several months later he was outstruck over five rounds to lose to the Irishman via majority decision.
Since then he has gone 2-2 inside the Octagon, a sequence that started with a unanimous decision win against Anthony Pettis.
Diaz failed to follow that up as the doctor stopped his fight with Jorge Masvidal after three rounds, and he then dropped a decision to Leon Edwards, who went on to win the UFC welterweight title.
His last UFC outing was a successful one though – a fourth-round submission of Tony Ferguson in September 2022.
Verdict
Jake Paul has the edge in boxing experience and also boasts a major size advantage here.
He is rightly the favourite for this one, but Nate Diaz’s durability should ensure he hears the final.
