Artur Beterbiev Form
Artur Beterbiev is the defending WBC, IBF and WBO light-heavyweight world champion with a professional record of 20-0 (20 KOs).
Beterbiev made his professional debut in June 2013 and just over four years later he became a world champion for the first time.
He stopped Enrico Kolling in the final round to win the vacant IBF light-heavyweight title on that.
The 39-year-old Russian successfully defended that belt with a fourth-round stoppage of Callum Johnson and fifth-round knockout of Radivoje Kalajdzic, before adding another title.
Beterbiev knocked out Oleksandr Gvozdyk in the 10th round to win the WBC world title in October 2019.
From there he successfully defended the WBC and IBF belts by knocking out Adam Deines in the 10th round and Marcus Browne in the ninth.
That set up a fight with Joe Smith Jr in which the WBO title was also up for grabs, and again Beterbiev came out on top, this time stopping his opponent in the second.
Since then he has taken on two of Britain’s best light-heavyweight fighters, stopping both of them.
He knocked out Anthony Yarde in the eighth-round in January 2023, before stopping former super-middleweight world champion Callum Smith in the seventh round in January of this year.
Dmitry Bivol Form
Dmitry Bivol is the defending WBA (Super) and IBO light-heavyweight champion with a professional record of 23-0 (12 KOs).
Bivol made his professional debut in November 2014 and just over three years later he claimed the WBA light-heavyweight title with a first-round knockout of Trent Broadhurst.
He was then upgraded to WBA (Super) champion in October 2019 when he beat Lenin Castillo via unanimous decision to improve his career record to 17-0.
The 33-year-old Russian successfully defended that belt twice in 2021, beating Craig Richards and Umar Salamov on points.
Bivol then recorded the biggest victory of his career to date, as he out-boxed Canelo Alvarez on his way to a unanimous decision win over the multiple-weight world champion in May 2022.
He ended that year with another points victory, this time beating Gilberto Ramirez, and in his sole outing of 2023 he added the IBO belt with a unanimous decision win over Lyndon Arthur.
Bivol then made the first defence of his WBA (Super) and IBO titles in June of this year, ending a six-year wait for a stoppage win by knocking out Malik Zinad in the sixth round.
Verdict
Artur Beterbiev is one of the most dangerous men in boxing, but Dmitry Bivol has the skillset and fight IQ to negate his opponents devastating power.
We expect to see a calculated performance from Bivol that earns him the undisputed crown on the scorecards.
